Division I District Semifinal Recap

CINCINNATI, Ohio — The Division I district finals at Xavier’s Cintas Center are only eight days away. Speaking of eight, we have eight Division I district semifinals taking place this weekend, five of which beginning on Friday night. Let’s take a look at what’s on tap in the Queen City.


Cincinnati 1

#2 Lakota East vs. #4 Turpin – Sat, 7 PM at Lakota West HS

The winner moves on to the district finals to take on No. 2 Beavercreek on Sat., March 8 at 1 p.m. at the Cintas Center.

#2 Beavercreek 64, #6 Springfield 44

Beavercreek moves on to the district finals to take on the winner of No. 2 Lakota East and No. 4 Turpin on Sat., March 8 at 1 p.m. at the Cintas Center

Cincinnati 2

#3 LaSalle 59, #11 Walnut Hills 55

Justin Lovette (18 points), Derek Eddings (15 points), and Jaylen Lemons (12 points) all score in double figures as the Lancers held off a late rally by Nic Smith (15 points, 10 rebounds) and the Eagles. LaSalle moves on to the district finals to take on No. 7 St. Xavier on Sat., March 8 at 8 p.m. at Cintas Center.

#7 St. Xavier 49, #8 Hamilton 39

Despite a big night from Big Blue forward and Northern Kentucky signee Trey Robinson (22 points), the Bombers came out with the victory over Hamilton. Kobe Rodgers led the way with 17 points (7-12 FG) as St. Xavier now moves on to the district finals to take on No. 3 LaSalle on Sat., March 8 at 8 p.m. at Cintas Center.

Cincinnati 3

#1 Centerville 74, #5 Huber Heights Wayne 42

Centerville moves on to the district finals to take on No. 14 Lakota West on Sat., March 8 at 6 p.m. at Cintas Center.

#6 Princeton 71, #14 Lakota West 81

After splitting the season series, the Princeton and Lakota West met again for the third time this year. The Vikings first half performance allowed them to head into the break with a ten point lead. However, the Firebirds were able to push the game into overtime and ultimately gutted out the victory in extra time. Lakota West moves on to the district finals to take on No. 1 Centerville on Sat., March 8 at 6 p.m. at Cintas Center.

Cincinnati 4

#1 Archbishop Moeller vs. #16 Western Hills – Sat., 7 p.m. at Hamilton HS

The winner moves on to the district finals to take on the winner of No. 9 Stebbins and No. 12 Springboro on Sat., March 8 at 3 p.m. at Cintas Center.

#9 Stebbins vs. #12 Springboro – Sat. 7 p.m. at Trotwood-Madison HS

The winner moves on to the district finals to take on the winner of No. 1 Moeller and No. 16 Western Hills on Sat., March 8 at 3 p.m. at Cintas Center.
